Jog Falls

Jog : One of the highest water falls in India, and it's always one of my favorite destination. Jog Falls is created by the Sharavathi River falling from a height of 253 M, making it the second-highest plunge waterfall in India .

The resources for the falls is coming from a reservoir which built near falls . If you want to see the Jog in full form you should reach there when the reservoir is open.

How to reach Jog falls ?

If you are coming in a train, then alight at Kumta. From Kumta there are buses which passing through Jog falls. Total distance from Kumta to Jog is 88 KM and it takes 2.45 hours (by bus) to reach at Jog falls.

If you coming via NH 17 , you can take right deviation at Honavar, a main junction which connects Konkan shore and western ghats. Total distance from Honavar to Jog is 68 KM
